Responsibilities of PCBU's and workers
PCBU is short for “person conducting a business or undertaking” which replaces the term employers. A PCBU conducts a business or undertaking as an entrepreneur or in partnership.
The responsibilities of PCBU while in a workplace include: · Establishing policies and procedures · Ensuring the workplace is safe and all care is taken to minimized hazards . · Provide adequate storage facilities. · Provide safe working areas, equipment and machinery . · Providing information, instructions, supervision and training. · Providing personal protective equipment · Keeping information and records on the workers health and safety. |
Any person who performs work in any capacity for a business or undertaking is a 'worker'. This includes any person who works as a worker, trainee, and volunteer. A worker must, while at work, take reasonable care for their own health and safety. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of others. Comply with any reasonable instruction by the PCBU and Cooperate with any reasonable policies and procedures of the PCBU.
